My name is Joshua “Fox” Brown, and I’m running for High Point City Council (At-Large). This is my 1st run for public office, but I actually got involved in politics at around 15 after I started college. I was elected into Student Government during my time at both Forsyth Tech and Guilford College. More recently, I was Elected to represent my County and State as a Delegate during the 2016 Election, then elected to serve as an Officer for my Precinct, County, and on several State level Committees, including a term as the Judicial Board Chairman for the Progressive Caucus of NCDP which I was elected to earlier this year.
I have worked in numerous fields including Locksmithing, Construction, Hospitality, and the production of live music events (i.e. FoxFest). I’ve also served as an Intern in London with Quaker Social Action, where I helped them work on long-term solutions to poverty, hunger, and joblessness.
Years of various forms of Community service, and advocating directly with Elected officials, has taught me that the role our Government can serve in addressing many issues in society is much larger and (potentially) more effective than what I can accomplish as an individual volunteering with non-profits, etc. Now I hope to enact Progressive Policies that will help alleviate poverty, protect our environment, and improve quality of life for Residents of High Point, if I can get elected. Be sure to write in Joshua “Fox” Brown at early voting or on November 5th.
I can’t take on big money interests without small dollar, grassroots support. A few dollars today can help our campaign to buy yardsigns, print literature, travel to candidate events, and build our movement.
